Paris-Saint-Germain who are the reigning French champions will now have to play their next two games as their superstar Neymar has been banned by football chiefs for punching Gonzalez.
Neymar was impressive in Paris-Saint-Germain’s first game of the season which ended 1-0 against Marseille which was not a good result for the champions.
But there was drama towards the end of the encounter which made the center referee give five players red card including Neymar for misconducts.
The referee had to check the VAR system to see what Neymar did to Alvaro Gonzalez before getting the marching orders.
Paris-Saint-Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa has been banned for six matches for his part in the brawl during the 1-0 defeat for his team.
Leandro Paredes received the same punishment as Neymar who has one additional game suspended on top.
Meanwhile, French football authorities have made it clear that they will start investigation to the claims made by Neymar that Gonzalez uttered some bitter words against him.
Although the Marseille player has denied the allegation, but if found guilty, he may be banned for 10 games with a fine.
Neymar explained before the start of the season that he is ready to help Paris-Saint-Germain reach the Champions League final again this season.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Brazilian footballer Neymar confirmed that he has no intention of leaving Paris-Saint-Germain this summer despite failure to win the Champions League title.
Paris Saint-Germain actually signed Neymar from Barcelona with the hopes that the Brazilian would help them win the Champions League, but that has not been done.
Neymar and his teammates made it to the final of this year’s Champions League for the first time in the club’s history in which their morale was boosted to triumph.
Defeat against Bayern Munich made Neymar angry after the encounter which suggested that the Brazilian might be ready to face the exit doors.
He has now stated emphatically that he is ready to stay in Paris and help PSG to reach the Champions League final again.
