The emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero has disclosed that his visit to Ilorin, the Kwara state capital was to receive blessings from his maternal roots.
The monarch during his visit on Thursday, August 27, told the Kwara state governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq that he was happy to be in Ilorin which he described as his home.
“The purpose of my visit is to be back home, where I belong. To me, Kano and Ilorin are the same thing. Here is my home – maternal side – and I am happy to always be here,” the emir said.
The monarch stated that this was his second visit to Ilorin city but noted that his recent visit is unique because it is his first time coming to the city after ascending the throne.
The emir said it was most important to pass the message that people from Kwara and Kano or anywhere are one and the same.
He also commiserated with the governor over the loss of his father and prayed for Allah to repose the soul of the sage.
In another news, the Sultan of Sokoto HRH Sa’ad Abubakar III visited Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state, barely 24 hours after the former Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi met with the state leader.
According to Daily Trust, the Sultan on Monday, August 24, arrived around 12:20 pm in a black SUV at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House.
The monarch upon his arrival was received by officials including Balarabe Abbas, the secretary to the state government, Muhammad Sani Dattijo the chief of staff, and Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna state commissioner internal security and home affairs.
Meanwhile, after three weeks of being in isolation for his coronavirus status, the deputy governor of Kwara state, Kayode Alabi, has recovered from the dreaded pandemic.
