After three weeks of being in isolation for his coronavirus status, the deputy governor of Kwara state, Kayode Alabi, has recovered from the dreaded pandemic.
The good news was announced on Friday, August 28, by the spokesperson of the technical committee on COVID-19 and chief press secretary to Governor AbdulRaman Abdulrazaq, Rafiu Ajakaye.
Ajakaye disclosed that the result of a repeat test by Alabi and chairman of the technical committee on COVID-19, Kayode Alabi, returned negative.

He added: “The government thanks members of the public for their support and prayers, and the medical team for their hard work.

“The government equally wishes all of our remaining patients, including the wife of the deputy governor, safe recovery like the deputy governor, while calling on everyone to not let down their guards as every step is being taken to flatten the curve of transmission.”
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Alabi and his wife, Abieyuwa, had joined the list of dignitaries who contracted Covid-19.
This was disclosed by Rafiu Ajakaye, the spokesperson of the state’s Technical Committee on Covid-19.
Legit.ng gathered that the duo decided to take the Covid-19 test after exhibiting slight symptoms of the infectious disease.

Ajakaye, however, said the couple are very stable and in high spirits, adding that they are now undergoing standard management protocols supervised by the government’s medical team.

He also said that those who have had contact with the couple are now being traced and contacted for tests, among other safety protocols.
In another post, Legit.ng reported that Alhaji Adisa Logun, the chief of staff to Governor Abdulrazaq of was reported dead on Tuesday, July 7, amid the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
Logun’s sudden death was announced and confirmed by the special assistant to Governor Abdulrazaq on new media, Fafoluyi Olayinka.
Speaking of Logun’s death, Olayinka said: “Kwara State Chief of Staff, Aminu Adisa Logun is dead. Indeed, death is the next thing after birth. Black Tuesday here in Kwara.”
Moreover, according to AIT Live, the chief press secretary to the governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, revealed that Logun died of complications from coronavirus.
