The chairman of Edo Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign council, Chief Dan Orbih, has urged voters to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its gubernatorial candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
According to Chief Orbih, the APC candidate is unfit to hold the position of governor in the state.
Orbih made the call while addressing a crowd of PDP supporters in Ugbegun, Ward 10, in Esan West local government area of the state, during the reelection campaign rally of Governor Godwin Obaseki.

His words: “Politicians must be careful about what they say. A former governor of this state told us about Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in 2016 that he was not a barrister.
“He also told us that the pastor is not fit to rule this state; he also told us that he cannot be trusted with public funds.
“To me, all what he said about his candidate has not changed. How can he make a u-turn and start telling Edo people to vote for that same man?
“Edo people are not fools; that is why I want to say that Oshiomhole is not a magician; he cannot turn white to black and black to white.”
Orbih continued: “Governor Obaseki remains the white man in this state’s politics; you can’t change the colour of what everybody has seen as white, to black.”
On his part, Obaseki said: “Even before I joined the PDP, you people have been supporting me. Now that I have joined the PDP is there anything left?
“I don’t have any doubt; I am convinced that you people have given me the go-ahead to be your governor in the next four years.
“Now that you people have given me the go-ahead, it means you all trust me, and I pledge to work more for you. The best way to express my gratitude to you is to work harder for the benefit of the majority of the people.
“By God’s grace, we are going to execute more people-oriented projects in this area. We have done a lot in this area and I will do more when I come back as governor.”
Legit.ng had earlier reported that Chief Orbih vowed that PDP will not only mobilise party members and supporters to vote but will ensure that their votes count.
“We will not sleep. We are doing everything possible to ensure that you vote and the votes count. In this election, we will not only vote but must defend our votes,” he said.
Meanwhile, the PDP campaign council had earlier raised an alarm over alleged plans by the APC to intimidate electorates and cause mayhem ahead of the Edo governorship election.
According to the PDP, two branded buses have already been deployed from Kogi state to execute the plan.
Spokesman of the PDP, Chris Osa Nehikhare, said intelligence gathered revealed that the thugs were loaded with arms and ammunition.
