Austin Okocha has sent an inspiring message to players at his former club Paris Saint Germain ahead of their epic UEFA Champions League final showdown against Bayern Munich.

PSG will battle the exciting Bayern stars for the coveted trophy on Sunday night, August 23 as they aim to become the second ever European team to win a quadruple after Celtic did it in 1967.

Led by manager Thomas Tuchel, PSG have already won Ligue 1, French Cup and League Cup.

The legendary ‘Jay Jay’ in a congratulatory message wished the French team well as he applauds the players and manager for qualifying for the final of the prestigious tournament.

He said: “Hello, it’s Jay Jay Okocha. I just want to say congratulations to players of Paris Saint-Germain and the manager for qualifying for the final of the Champions League. I wish you all the best for the final. Allez Paris!”

Okocha joined PSG in a record deal in 1998 and spent four seasons before signing for English side Bolton Wanderers.

Meanwhile, Neymar has been handed a green light to feature for Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League final against Bayern Munich.

The Brazilian ace was staring at a possible ban from the competition after he breached UEFA coronavirus protocols during PSG’s semi-final clash against RB Leipzig.

He was caught on camera swapping shirts with Leipzig’s Marcel Halstenberg in complete violation of UEFA’s guidelines.

UEFA’s 31-page ‘return to play protocol’ states players are advised to avoid swapping shirts as it “may lead to disciplinary measures.”

However, the European football governing body has confirmed they will not probe the matter – meaning the star forward is clear to face Bayern.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Bayern Munich defeated French club Lyon 3-0 on Wednesday night, August 19 to set up a tantalising Champions League final clash with Ligue 1 champions PSG.

And since the return of football since the pandemic began, Bayern have been merciless in front of goal battering top clubs including Chelsea, Barcelona and Lyon.

PSG are also through to the final of the prestigious competition having splashed as much as £198million on Neymar and £31million on Kylian Mbappe in their quest for the Champions League glory.
